IEFACTRT-3

This version of IEFACTRT was obtained from File #38 of the CBT Overflow tape.  The utilities in that file are from Memorex.

This exit does not provide information to the MVS console, which I view as a shortcoming.  It does breakdown the I/O counts for each device allocated at step termination, although it doesn't filter out some spurious address 000 entries.  It also provides a summary panel at the job termination which is nice.

An example of the information displayed in the job output log by this exit may be seen at JOB LOG.

I added register equates in lieu of a missing macro that should have provided that function.  I also added entries into a table for some additional DASD types (3350, 3375, 3380, 3390, as well as some older types that were missing but probably won't show up in anyone's Hercules systems).  To see the changes I made, search for the initials JLM in column 66 of the source statements.

Installation

To install this exit, download the archive:  mvs0090.3.tar.gz [MD5: 8DFDD93363A7AB5E3ADB0F8199AAF57C], which contains one file:  mvs0090.jcl.  Uncompress this archive with the command:

tar xvzf mvs0090.3.tar.gz

(on Linux) or use WinZip or ZipNAll on Windows/??.

Submit the jobstream to install IEFACTRT using SMP.  You will need to re-IPL and specify

r 00,clpa

at the first prompt to activate the newly installed exit.

I hope that you have found my instructions useful.  If you have questions that I can answer to help expand upon my explanations and examples shown here, please don't hesitate to send them to me:
